Clara Brugada

Clara Brugada has led Mexico City’s care agenda since the first Utopías opened in Iztapalapa: neighbourhood centres that put childcare, laundries, sports and culture within reach of families who had none of it. As mayor she has made the city’s system of care a constitutional commitment and a budget line.

Her work with the Alliance focuses on how cities can lead where national policy lags, and on making the case that care infrastructure is climate infrastructure.
