ABOUT THE ALLIANCE
Across Sectors and Regions
We bring together organizations representing caregivers and care recipients, civil society, trade unions, academia, local, national and regional governments, international and multilateral organizations, development cooperation actors, philanthropic organizations, and the private sector.
Our diversity of actors, perspectives, and experiences reflects the shared responsibility required to advance the care agenda and transform the social organization of care.
Co-convened by the Government of Mexico and UN Women, the Global Alliance for Care was launched in the context of the Generation Equality Forum in 2021. Today, we bring together more than 380 members from around the world.

Our Transformative Vision and Premises
We aspire to a care society: a transformative paradigm that advances sustainable development, gender justice, women’s autonomy, and the well-being of all people.
Care is a fundamental and cross-cutting issue for sustainable development, social justice, gender equality, and human rights.

OUR HISTORY
Building Momentum for Care, Together
Since its launch in 2021, the Global Alliance for Care has grown through the collective commitment of governments, civil society, care workers and caregivers, international organizations, academia, philanthropy, and other actors. Along the way, we have expanded our membership, strengthened collective priorities, and brought the care agenda into key global and regional spaces.

OUR STRUCTURE
The Alliance’s structure supports participation, coordination, collaboration, and collective decision-making across its diverse membership.
The Global Alliance for Care is made up of more than 350 members, including organizations of caregivers and care recipients, civil society organizations, trade unions, union associations, academia, local, national and regional governments, international and multilateral organizations, international development cooperation actors, philanthropies, and the private sector.
Technical Secretariat
The Technical Secretariat supports the coordination, operation, communication, and day-to-day work of the Global Alliance for Care. It helps facilitate spaces for member engagement, collective action, advocacy, communication, and learning.
