The Ministry of Social Development is the national authority for social policy, responsible for the design and delivery of the country’s system of care: services for early childhood, older persons and people with disabilities, and the recognition of unpaid care work in public policy.
Role in the Alliance
The Ministry co-chairs the working group on public financing of care and hosts the annual members’ assembly. Its Global Care Week convenes local governments from across the region.
